BOTANY FOR ARTISTS AND WILDLIFE GARDENERS AT THE KINGCOMBE CENTRE, TOLLER PORCORUM, DORSET with Sally Pinhey.
A long weekend from Friday afternoon, to Sunday evening, using the abundant wildlife specimens at Kingcombe, to follow and draw the life stories of plants and their interdependency with all nature.
10th, 11th and 12 May 2019. (tbc) Workshop hours will be 9.30, to 4.30, with opportunities for further exploration of subjects after tea.

THE SECRET LIFE OF PLANTS - BOTANY FOR ARTISTS AND GARDENERS AT HILLIER GARDENS, ROMSEY, HANTS with Sally Pinhey.
A series of six linked exploratory workshops, to study and draw the life story of plants. Each workshop except the first starts with a review of home studies, sharing what we have discovered by following our own lines of interest. Coffee is followed by a presentation on the subject for the week with live examples, discussions and microscope observations. After lunch in the cafe, the group focuses on drawing and painting their chosen specimens. Syllabus for 2019: Jan 6, Fruits, seeds, nuts and seed dispersal. Feb 3 Winter twigs and stem structures. Mar 3 Germination and growth. Apr 7 Leaves and photosynthesis. May 5 Roots and vegetative reproduction. June 2 flowers and sexual reproduction.
On the first Sunday of each month from January to June, 10 am to 4 pm.
