Sue Hayden
Upper Solva: October Blue, giclee print on museum paper, 56 x 56cm

Sue is excited by the juxtaposition of texture, space and light in both landscapes and the human form. She paints with acrylics and pastels on 300gsm paper, which has been layered up beforehand, with paint and paper to add energy, randomness and interest. Sue works from drawings and notes and rarely uses photographs. Studying at Dudley School of Art and the City of Leicester College of Education, she specialised in printmaking, painting and ceramics and worked in Sydney, Australia as a jewellery designer. After many years working in education she is now painting full-time.
