Lisa Bartlett
Rhino Day, 76 x 76cm, oil on canvas

Lisa paints in oils and is excited by mixing and applying colour. She uses a variety of brushes and spatulas. "In fact anything l feel will give me the effect l want to create," she says of her impressionistic and painterly works. "Each new painting is a journey and l never really quite know where it will take me till it is finished. I explore to find unexpected colours that l think can really bring a painting to life." Lisa has won awards at local exhibitions and has been shortlisted for The David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year, Patchings Art Festival and the Ken Bromley cover competition on several occasions. On two occasions she has been long listed for the Jacksons Art Prize. She exhibits at The Frame Gallery, Odiham and has solo shows there. She takes part in Surrey Open Studios  and will be opening her studio during Hampshire Open Studios in August. After a busy career in retail displayand bringing up children Lisa then joined a local art group, which dramatically changed her life and saw her go on to several others. Lisa, who also does animal commissions, is Program Secretary for Farnham Art Society. An outdoor person, her childhood was spent out in the fields working with animals and in the woods climbing trees. Holidays were spent with her grandparents on the south coast, all of which she feels has greatly influenced her work.
