Keith paints for two reasons: for the rich and joyous experiences he has when working on paintings; and for the potential connection that the painting can make with the viewer. "I know what I have received from the paintings that I have loved throughout my life and I wish to communicate and contribute to others in the same way," he says. "My portraits are an attempt to find and reveal something new and not normally witnessed in the subject. I love the process of painting people and of how they can suddenly appear in front of me. Sometimes it feels almost miraculous. I love colour too and feel that dynamic arrangements of colour are one of the great gifts that the artist can give to their audience. The colour in a painting never stops resonating and radiating; it keeps on giving and broadcasting to the world."
