John Whittaker
Harvest Time, Sulham

John Whittaker is an artist who works primarily in oil paints on canvas. He often paints local scenes, including the countryside near the River Thames and the Berkshire Downs. Mainly self-taught, his work is influenced by the Impressionist artists and Van Gogh. In his art, he enjoys experimenting in different techniques and styles and to exploit the use of colour as a means of expression. He regularly exhibits at the Art Cafe in Pangbourne and participates in an annual exhibition with another artist in Henley-on-Thames. Two of his paintings have been used for classical music CD covers by Albion Records.
