Phyllis says: "I aim to entertain as well as be thought provoking. I tackle any subject and try to be experimental with my techniques also. Transposing the iconic compositions of the old masters is something I do but then I twist the subject on its head to mean something more contemporary." She works in alkyds, acrylics and mixed media mostly. "My heroes are Holbein, Rembrandt, Velasquez , Picasso and at the other end of the artistic spectrum I enjoy the humour of the cartoonist Gary Larson," she adds. Phyllis has produced two books combining images and text - the former a collaboration. The second she produced during lockdown, combines images and poetry.
