"As an artist I am constantly searching for inspiration, for something that sparks the urge to produce my own representation of what I have seen," says Andrew. "Nothing provides that more successfully for me than the diverse elements of the natural world." He has been captivated and fascinated by animals and birds ever since childhood. "So when I began to take my first tentative steps in art, these creatures provided me with the perfect subjects. I did not go to art college and so I am what is commonly termed a self-taught artist." For the last 40 years Andrew has developed his techniques and style largely through a process of trial and error, constantly searching for more successful ways of achieving the goal of depicting his subjects both accurately and artistically. "Over the years I have been fortunate to have had work displayed at the Mall Galleries, Christies, Sotheby’s and Art in Action." Andrew currently has three art technique books in print, two which were commissioned by Search Press in the UK.
