Sue Colyer
Breaking Out

Sue's passion for watercolour and its unique qualities enable her to paint the subject she loves - nature in all its glory. "I aim to paint a personal response to a subject which may invoke a similar or different emotion to the viewer, allowing the subject to be the inspiration of the painting rather than the resulting image," she says. "A large portion of my watercolour paintings personally reflect the emotions and memories of landscapes past and present. Watercolour is the perfect medium to capture the transparency and fluidity of nature itself and the beauty of its very being." Sue lives in Hampshire and exhibits throughout the year. She is also an exhibiting member of the Hampshire Artists Co-operative, an artist led group, which exhibits twice a year. Her work can be seen in the White Dog Galleries in Lee-on-Solent and Southsea, ART for art's sake in Twyford and the Hayrack Gallery in Northamptonshire. Sue has also exhibited her work at the Mall Gallery, London with the Society of Women Artists for two consecutive years.
