still life
Michael Jevon
Onions and bottle, 8.5 x 7.5

A self taught artist, Michael held his first solo exhibition in Sussex at the age of 17 and has since had numerous one man shows as well as taking part in group exhibitions in London and Bath. "For me the beauty of still-lifes lies in the endless possibilities within a relatively simple format," he says. "Each painting tells a story, be it of a person, place or season, contained within a handful of objects, suggesting a wider world of experiences and emotions." Influenced by the paintings of the Dutch Golden Age, Michael strives to capture textural complexity, depth and richness of colour in each of his paintings. He has works in private art collections in the UK, America and Australia.
