Derbyshire based Fiona Wilsher studied as a graphic designer and has evolved as a versatile artist working in different styles from impressionist to realism. Experimenting with acrylics, oils, gouache and inks Fiona has more recently developed a new style with the medium of cut paper. "I try to capture a rich tapestry of vibrant colours to enhance and inspire moods, as well as embracing the beauty of nature, and the elements," she says. "My love of travel led me to the mountains of Northern Italy where I spent five years on an artistic sabbatical painting Italian and French landscapes, ancient villages and living communities exploring the Mediterranean aesthetic in a mixture of representational styles and mediums." It was when Fiona worked for a brand design agency on her return to London that she became inspired with a new way of working with multimedia and cut paper in a brightly coloured graphic style that reflects her love of oriental and art nouveau design.
